Pixi Beauty kindly sent me their Summer Essentials favorites to try out! I was really excited to finally try out a makeup setting spray (first timer). The Quick Fix Powder is a product I was truly in need of. My regular loose powder compact always makes a mess of my clothing when I put it on. This Lip Polish is perfect to use before and for reapplication of liquid lipstick, or worn alone. The applicator helps smooth rough lips and easily wipes clean. A must have from now on for me! I have avoided wearing liquid lipsticks,(especially matte) mainly because of the dryness factor! This product keeps my lips hydrated without experiencing dryness or flaking as I normally would with drying lip products. Purchase at Target.

As I mentioned earlier, this is my first experience with a makeup-setting-spray. Perhaps my expectations were set a bit too high. I envisioned a magical product, that would transform my face into 8 hours of perfection, with just a few sprays of rosewater bliss!
Upon using for the first time, I did my regular routine Dermalogica Oil Control Lotion, MAC Studio Finish Foundation/Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer and SmashBox Photo Finish Primer. I have combination (oil/dry) skin. My current routine with moisturizer/primer/foundation/concealer, I honestly have no complaints with my current routine, aside from the occasional need for touch-ups throughout the day due to creasing (with extended) wear.
Being a first-timer, I didn’t want to go overboard. I made sure to allow enough time for my foundation and concealer to be fully dried/absorbed. The product label states it can be applied before or after makeup, or anytime. I chose to first apply after foundation, concealer and setting powder, with hopes of “setting my makeup.” The product has a light rose scent, which isn’t too overpowering. I will warn anyone before they ever first use this Misting Spray, that the product should be sprayed at a minimum, one arms length away. When I first sprayed the product, it took me by surprise. In my mind I was imagining the product would spray a “fine mist”, similar to an aerosol sprayer, or a body spray mist. Without discrediting the product, I will say it is a mist, but a heavy mist. In between non-aerosol hair spray and a spritz from a perfume bottle. Thankfully I didn’t have the bottle too close to my face, as I can imagine in that event my mascara and highlighter would have had to be redone.
Right after lunch, I took the misting spray into the bathroom with me at work, to reapply ( first applied at 6am). My face did not seem oily, nor dry, nor any noticeable creasing. Not that I would normally notice above said at lunch time. Upon finally returning home at 7pm I looked closely in my bathroom mirror. My foundation looked exactly the same as it did when I applied it. I did use loose powder once throughout the day, but a small amount (out of habit). Had I spent time outside, or danced the night away , I may have benefited more from this product. I will continue to use and will provide future updates. Purchase at Target.
This multi-use, crème-powder formula awakens by adding a touch of colour to the face. Infused with aloe vera, shea butter, and rose hip oil to protect. Paraben free. Not tested on animals. Color: Baby Petal
This multibalm complements my skin tone well. The color seems darker than once you apply it, in my opinion. I only use a very small amount on my cheeks, as it is dark. However, the color, baby petal color is perfect for summer. Nicely pigmented and smooth application, without streaking. Color is long-lasting. I prefer to use it as a “balm“, rather than a blush. Although, I feel it acts more as a lipstick, rather than a balm. I would more or less use it for the color, then apply a clear lip gloss (or other shade over it). For $12 you are definitely getting a deal for the money, as it acts as 2 products in 1. Purchase at Target.
