Ipsy 💄 January ’17 Glam Bag

My Ipsy Glam Bag seemed to arrive a bit late this month. Nonetheless, I was overall pleased with this month’s selection.

Here is what was inside:

Beaute Basics - C405 Contour Brush
 • TEMPTU - Base Smooth & Matte Primer
 • Manna Kadar - Fantasy 3-in-1 Eyeshadow (Fantasy)
 • Jelly Pong Pong - Coconut +Coffee Lip Scrub
 • IT Cosmetics - Bye Bye Under Eye  Illumination  Anti-Aging Concealer (Medium)

Admittedly, I was hoping to have received a SLMissGlam brush, as many people did this month. Nonetheless, I am happy with my new Beaute Basics Contour brush, as I needed a new one badly

IT Cosmetics - Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination Anti-Aging Concealer (Medium)
A  full-coverage + waterproof concealer, with a hint of radiance. Great for under eye circles and imperfections.

Pros: The color matched my skin tone perfectly Hides under eye circles well

Cons: Difficult to blend. Required a Beauty Blender

Manna Kadar - Fantasy 3-in-1 Eyeshadow (Fantasy)
A highly pigment, multi-purpose eyeshadow, blush or highlighter.

Pros: Love the color Fantasy. Applies beautifully

Cons:  Packaging was a bit difficult to open.

Jelly Pong Pong - Coconut + Coffee Lip Scrub
A smooth concoction of shea-butter and sugar. Easily scrubs and buffs away dead skin, leaving lips soft, silky, and ready for lipstick application.

Ipsy recommends “using a pea-sized amount and buff with your fingers. For particularly parched puckers, pair with a dry toothbrush to up the sloughing power.”

Pros: Lips feel silky and smooth, Paraben-free

TEMPTU - Base Smooth & Matte Primer
A lightweight primer, great for hiding pores and minor imperfections.

Pros:
Not heavy, nor greasy

My face stays matte all day under foundation (MAC Studio Sculpt – NC25)

Cons:
A bit difficult to spread over skin, as it isn’t oily in consistency. However it is a thin formulation.

Beauty Basics C405 Contour Blush
A lovely contour brush made from natural goat hair fibers.

  1. Hey Nicole!

Lovely post! Very informative too! I have a doubt out of curiosity: Is the colour of the concealer more important than the way it blends or the other way around? ‘Cause I can’t find the right colour and even if I find the right colour, it just doesn’t conceal well…

    1. Thank you 🙂 Great question! I feel it’s easier if the color is lighter. Can always fix that with bronzer or contour powder. I tend to go lighter with concealer. The IT concealer was a perfect match, but again took some work to blend in. I hope that helps!
